We’re Lala and Eric; we’re Just North! Both of us are from Bogota, Colombia, which is “Just North” of the equator. We want to show our perspective of the world – the way we see its beauty and play among its variety of features – on this blog, YouTube and our social media. We’re passionate about nature, travel, cultures and people, and are going to do everything in our power to help you get to where you want to be.
Our Beginnings
One day, we wanted to go to the Tatacoita Desert and took way too long planning the trip. The place wasn’t well-known and we couldn’t find good instructions on how to get there. We finally found some, so we went, and they were incomplete. We spent more time finding the desert than we did enjoying it!
And so, Just North began.
This web site is made to help people find amazing places in a country where the infrastructure for “solo” tourism is nonexistent or prohibited. We write guides to motivate people to get outside, travel and make memories.
The Future
Now, we’d like to share some of our goals with you to be accountable here. In the future, we want this blog to be THE blog for travelling in Colombia. We also want to extend our reach abroad to do the same thing we’ve done in Colombia and to guide Colombians abroad. On Instagram and Facebook, we’ll share our adventures, which will hopefully someday be our daily lives.
And that’s a little bit about us. We’ve shared some of our passions and hopes with you.
We hope to inspire your adventures in Colombia and the world!
Lala
Outdooring is my favorite thing to do. I’m a filmmaker and rock climber who loves to find the bright and adventurous side of every situation. I started climbing in Eric’s backyard four years ago, and now it is one of my greatest passions.
I’m especially fond of unknown places. The wilder the land, the better.
Eric
Born to an American mom and Colombian dad, I’m a true third culture kid. I’m a translator and photographer. I love climbing and just being active, but also know how to rest hard. I’m passionate about nature, cultures and, above all, people and their stories.
